Hello everyone! Tom is back on Firestar Toys’ blog today. Today we are excited to take a look at an LEGO Captain America inspired item that was recently shared by the Bricker Builders team.
LEGO Marvel fans have had a great year with sets based on The Infinity Saga appearing on stores shelves around the globe this year. There are also sets based on the Disney + series What If. Marvel fans have been able to enjoy a wide range of LEGO products this year, but The LEGO Group has not touched on the life-size LEGO models. We did receive a display piece of the Infinity Gauntlet but we haven’t seen any other high-end pieces. Bricker Builds is now trying to fill that void. We’ll be taking a look at their latest model , which is their 2,904-piece Captain America shield. Then we’ll explore other Marvel products that they have on their website.
Let’s take a look at the complete press release by Christopher Gearhart, Bricker Builds owner:
Avengers: assemble your Captain America Shield using LEGO(r) bricks.
Bricker Builds is a well-known brand on Instagram (@brickerbuilds), for its massive replicas and sculptures. They have now announced a new model that was inspired by the MCU franchise. The Captain America Shield weighs in at 110 oz (3.2kg) and is tough. It’s built using 2,904 LEGO(r), bricks, and measures almost 24” (608mm).
The shield has wrist and forearm straps that allow it to be comfortably held and a stand that allows you to proudly display it when you aren’t using it.
Bricker Builds offers high-quality, custom instructions for purchase at
https://brickerbuilds.com which are intended for all skill levels, even if you haven’t touched a LEGO(r) brick before.
Although the LEGO(r) bricks and wrist straps are sold separately, you’ll still have all you need with the parts list and tutorials Bricker Builds offers.
Captain America’s Shield is the newest Bricker Builds release. It adds to their rapidly growing library of custom-sized life-sized sculptures. This includes Pikachu and Darth Vader as well as Captain Rex.
Bricker Builds is not selling the complete model. However, I would be happy to help you locate a place where you can buy 2,904 LEGO bricks at $30. They are actually trying to provide the instructions to help you build this item yourself. This build is sure to be popular with many fans. The shield’s design is based on the comic book shield design. This means that the colors are brightened with lighter blues to make it stand out visually.
It also shows that it has some depth. This helps to capture the curvature of the shield in both the Marvel movies and the comics. This is an amazing feat of engineering in its own right. This set is made entirely from LEGO bricks. It has a more rounded shape than the original, which is something I think should be appreciated. It is an excellent display piece that will be a focal point in any LEGO Marvel collection.
Bricker Builds does not recommend that you use the same elements for the handle and display stand. This means that there are other elements in the build. It is important to remember this if your goal is to build your shield yourself. You won’t be sourcing parts via BrickLink. Instead, you will need to look further afield to make the build exactly as the instructions suggest. However, it’s worth the extra effort to get the final result.
Bricker Builds has instructions for many other Marvel-inspired items, as I mentioned earlier. Marvel fans might be interested in two additional items from their store. The first is a stunning bust of Spider-Man Advanced Suit. This captures the iconic outfit that Sony designed for Spidey’s return in the videogame world. It is nearly two feet taller than the previous model but will still be a focal point in a collection that includes Spider-Man fans. This model would look great with a set such as the Daily Bugle. It captures perfectly the iconic iconography that many people associate with Spider-Man comics. We also want to mention a amazing build of Thor’s Hammer Mjolnir. This build is very simple and captures the look of the item. It also uses great colour choices to capture the many colours in the comics. This is a creative interpretation of Hammer. Avengers Endgame fans will know that this item matches particularly well with Captain America’s shield.
Other items are mostly focused on LEGO Star Wars licensing, with a variety of helmet designs for fans. You can find Clone Trooper helmet instruction on the website. If you are a fan Star Wars or the more recent Bad Batchshow, then you might want to look at some of their other products. Bricker Builds is bound to have something for everyone who loves pop culture.
We want to thank Christopher for sending us details about the Captain America shield. We love it when people use LEGO to create projects or items. As a passionate group, we also love the idea of seeing other AFOLs get creative with LEGO. It was great to see some of the items on their store.
We hope that you enjoyed our close-up look at the new Bricker Builds items. We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. And if you want to see more of my writing, click here.
