This is the second part in my 2017 LEGO DC retrospective.<\/span>\u00a0Part 1<\/a>\u00a0covered the sets that were inspired by the movie Justice League.<\/span>\u00a0Although I was supposed cover all three sets of Justice League, my clever mouth chose to talk about the minifigures as well as the builds.<\/span>\u00a0These sets were pretty cool back then.<\/span>\u00a0Over the years, I have grown to appreciate the three Justice League sets, especially the Snyder Cut.<\/span>\u00a0The movie was released and I found myself longing for the minifigures in this line.<\/span>\u00a0You can’t blame me.<\/span><\/p>\n

Each minifigure we discussed in the part 2 sets had leg printing.<\/span>\u00a0Yes, I will continue to gushing about the work that designers put into these sets.<\/span>\u00a0Each figure in the past two sets was a hard hit.<\/span>\u00a0The builds were also above average, in comparison to typical superhero sets.<\/span><\/p>\n

We will be looking at the Flying Fox, the largest set in the wave.<\/span>\u00a0This set was my first.<\/span>\u00a0This was likely because I couldn’t afford it at the time.<\/span>\u00a0The builds were also very ugly to me.<\/span>\u00a0As time passed, I began to like the $130 USD set and am now willing to buy it.<\/span>\u00a0Let’s get to the review!<\/span><\/p>\n

Flying Fox Batmobile Airlift Attack (76087).<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Let me begin by saying that the Batman in this set is a beautiful.<\/span>\u00a0The cowl that Batman figures usually have is the one he received.<\/span>\u00a0His faceprint was unique – it was not the same as the Knightcrawler.<\/span>\u00a0Yes.<\/span>\u00a0Yes.<\/span>\u00a0His torso print was entirely new and I loved the accents in gold.<\/span>\u00a0The incredible printing continued onto the hip and legs, which were also dual-molded.<\/span>\u00a0This Batman figure was perfect LEGO could make in a retail set.<\/span>\u00a0He was also given a black Batarang as well as a grappling weapon.<\/span><\/p>\n

The next figure was\u00a0Superman<\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0He was a exact copy of the 2016 Batman vs Superman model.<\/span>\u00a0He got the exact same crew cut hairpiece and great torso.<\/span>\u00a0But, LEGO did not give him dual-molded boots.<\/span>\u00a0His 2016 Batman vs Superman Batwing counterpart came with dual-molded legs in red and blue.<\/span>\u00a0This figure was too expensive for the set so it was disappointing that he did not receive the treatment.<\/span>\u00a0Each Justice League figure had some kind of detail on their legs.<\/span>\u00a0This figure was the only one to break the trend, which was disappointing.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wonder Woman<\/a>\u00a0was the third figure in this set.<\/span>\u00a0She was the re-release of her 2016 Batman vs Superman counterpart.<\/span>\u00a0Her hairpiece was flawless and her beautiful, dual-sided expression was stunning.<\/span>\u00a0Her torso detail was exactly like her film appearance. It carried on to her hips and then onto her legs.<\/span>\u00a0She also came with dual moulded legs.<\/span>\u00a0Oh, yeah.<\/span>\u00a0Did I mention that her legs and arms were covered in printing?<\/span>\u00a0Yeah.<\/span>\u00a0This LEGO figure was a huge success in 2016. Many people were happy that she was released in 2016 as Justice League had a similar appearance and didn’t need a new figure.<\/span><\/p>\n

This set’s final hero is\u00a0Cyborg<\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0This is the best LEGO version of this figure.<\/span>\u00a0Yes.<\/span>\u00a0That was his genius.<\/span>\u00a0He used the same hearing aid as previous Cyborgs.<\/span>\u00a0It was not necessary to modify it so LEGO chose the obvious option.<\/span>\u00a0It was very cool. Half of the moulded piece was his hair and half was robot.<\/span>\u00a0His face print was quite average.<\/span><\/p>\n

This figure is a great example of how he uses his legs and torso to lift him up.<\/span>\u00a0It was amazing how his torso looked.<\/span>\u00a0The printing was amazing.<\/span>\u00a0It was intricate and extended to his waistline and legs.<\/span>\u00a0The best part of the figure was the specially designed arm piece. It could hold a stud and allows you to attach a shooter.<\/span>\u00a0This figure was truly a masterpiece and the driving force behind me purchasing this set.<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Parademons<\/a>\u00a0were the final figures – both were duplicates of the Justice League sets previously discussed.<\/span>\u00a0The Battle of Atlantis set included the yellow figure.<\/span>\u00a0This face print was amazing, and the detailing continued on to the beautifully designed legs and torso.<\/span>\u00a0LEGO didn’t stop there.<\/span>\u00a0These details were further extended to the wings.<\/span>\u00a0LEGO included two versions of each wing in the set, totaling four.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Latest LEGO Sales and Deals<\/a><\/p>\n

The Knightcrawler Tunnel Attack set released the green version.<\/span>\u00a0As stated, the face print was amazing.<\/span>\u00a0The figure’s look was enhanced by every line and dot detail.<\/span>\u00a0Both the beautiful light and dark colors complimented each other perfectly.<\/span>\u00a0Similar printing was used on the torso as in the yellow version. It was just as detailed and had the same amount of detail, but it was largely made up of green.<\/span>\u00a0This effort was carried over to LEGO’s legs, making these figures extremely collectible.<\/span>\u00a0Both Parademons came with four pieces of wing each and a stud gun as weapons.<\/span><\/p>\n

Let’s get to the set.<\/span>\u00a0The first steppenwolf figure was made from bricks.<\/span>\u00a0The moulded head was amazing, especially with his chin and horns.<\/span>\u00a0Although the armour printing on his torso was great, the figure was a bit lacking in detail.<\/span>\u00a0It was easy to pose via the ball joints. However, it looked very cluttered and messy.<\/span>\u00a0The designers should have spent more time smoothing out the build.<\/span><\/p>\n

The upgraded Batmobile was another medium-sized model in the set.<\/span>\u00a0The basic design was the same as the 2016 model, but it had more weapons and armor.<\/span>\u00a0It featured two stud shooters at its hood, and one near the main turret.<\/span>\u00a0It was possible to lift the windshield of the driver up in order to place Batman.<\/span>\u00a0It was an impressive build.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Flying Fox is finally here.<\/span>\u00a0This thing must have a lot of interior space.<\/span>\u00a0Nope.<\/span>\u00a0It was hollow.<\/span>\u00a0It was made to transport the Batmobile.<\/span>\u00a0There were simple Technic mechanisms that locked the vehicle in place once it was driven inside. This prevented it from falling during flight.<\/span>\u00a0There were some stickers on the interior, however.<\/span>\u00a0Two hidden spring-loaded shooters were located under the main wings, while two stud shooters were on the top.<\/span>\u00a0The cockpit can be opened to accommodate two minifigures.<\/span>\u00a0Although it was disappointing that the interior didn’t have enough space to accommodate Justice League members, it could be easily modified to allow for figures.<\/span>\u00a0It was an interesting build but nothing to be proud of.<\/span>\u00a0The set also included the third Mother Box in red.<\/span><\/p>\n

This concludes this week’s article.<\/span>\u00a0I hope you guys enjoyed!<\/span>\u00a0Now, as I look back at the set I feel conflicted.<\/span>\u00a0It was clear that I wanted it.<\/span>\u00a0As I began to peel back the layers, I realized that I wanted the Cyborg and Batman exclusives.<\/span>\u00a0Wonder Woman and the green Parademon would both be great, but I don’t have either.<\/span>\u00a0Even though I like the builds, they aren’t necessary.<\/span>\u00a0So I might just order the figures online and forget about the rest.<\/span>\u00a0We’ll see what happens.<\/span>\u00a0I feel quite tired so I am going to bed.<\/span>\u00a0Good night!<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
